Directions
Once on the trail, the route is easy to follow, winding zig-zag fashion up the escarpment for 500 - 600 ft (170m). The trail is reasonably wide and carefully constructed with stone retaining walls.
Large beetles can sometimes be seen, as well as bats in the shafts and gullies in the rock faces. We managed to see a rare mating pair of venomous locusts.
Once at the top, there are superb and dramatic views across to the red sands and Shaib Awsat. Descend the trail to return.
