Quick tour of Le Pin
Le Pin is a typical village in the south of France. It lies in the Gard region, close to the medieval city of Uzes.
It's also close to the Pont du Gard, the spectacular aquaduct built by the Romans to bring water from Uzes to Nimes, as well as lying on one of the trails linking to the old pilgrim routes to Saint Jacques de Compostelle in Spain. The way marker for the pilgrim trail can be seen carved on this door head in the village.

Walk to the south of the village and you could spot this stone built borie (shepherd's hut)...

and if you walk out onto the garrigue, you could find an "arbousier" bush or wild strawberry tree - very tasty.

You can also walk along the track past the fire look-out post (see above Google map) to the Oppidum near the village of Gaujac, which features Roman thermal baths.

And then of course there's the Bastille Day celebrations ...
There's always a good band at Le Pin. In 1998 it was Greg Aria.

... organised by the infamous village committee.
and the kids had a great fancy dress party ...
